Minaj started feuling breakdown rumors in 2016 with two cryptic Instagram posts, one of her new Chanel slides with the explanation citing Beyonce's moving on carol, "Best Matter I Never Had" and ane with the quote "Your value doesn't decrease based on someone's disability to see your worth." Meek added fuel to the flame by sharing a since-deleted NSFW photo of an anonymous woman's lingerie clad derriere.

Remy'south scathing Nicki diss runway titled "ShETHER" was a response to Minaj's poetry on Gucci Mane's "Brand Dear." She referenced the couple'due south former relationship with the lyrics:
